SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Police today recovered over three kilograms of poppy straw from a residential house in the Khudpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian.
Acting on specific information, authorities said that the Police Station Shopian registered a case under FIR No. 11/2026 under the NDPS Act.
Following the registration of the case, a police team, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, conducted a raid at the residence of Danish Maqbool Malik, a resident of Khudpora, Shopian.
During the search, police seized 3.072 kilograms of a poppy straw-like substance and initiated further investigation.
However, the accused managed to flee from the spot, and efforts are underway to apprehend him, police said
