Tanvir Sadiq Alleges Discrimination Against Jammu, Seeks Probe into MP Fund Utilisation

Jammu, Feb 18: MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of neglecting the interests of the people of Jammu and demanded an investigation into the utilization of funds by a Member of Parliament representing the region.
Speaking to reporters outside the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sadiq alleged that the BJP was not a well-wisher of the people of Jammu. He said the party had claimed that adequate representation was given to the people of Poonch and Rajouri by nominating a tribal leader to Parliament. However, he alleged that funds meant for the region were instead spent in Uttar Pradesh.
Sadiq said Uttar Pradesh already has 80 Members of Parliament and questioned the rationale behind diverting funds outside Jammu and Kashmir. He termed the move an injustice to the people of Poonch and Rajouri, asserting that development allocations should benefit the areas the elected representative is meant to serve.
The MLA further alleged that the funds were spent through a few selected companies and called for a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure transparency and accountability. (KNT)
