UDHAMPUR, Feb 18: Police foiled two bovine smuggling attempts under Police Station Chenani and PP Sudhmahadev and rescued 11 bovines.
Police team of PP Sudhmahadev intercepted one Mahindra Bolero pickup (JK19A-7324) during night patrolling near Gau Karan area. The driver fled, abandoning the vehicle. On checking, 09 bovines were found tied cruelly and being transported without valid permission. All bovines were rescued.
Meanwhile, Police team of Police Station Chennai at Motorshed naka point intercepted a Mahindra load carrier (JK14H-8675). The driver escaped, leaving behind the vehicle loaded with 02 bovines in cruel condition. Both the bovines were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
