JAMMU: Continuing with its Jan Jagran programme, Congress conducted a series of meetings in Jammu East and Jammu West constituencies. The meetings were chaired by former Minister J&K Yogesh Sawhney, General Secretary PCC & Incharge District President Jammu (U), while Sahil Dogra organised the meeting at Peerkho, Ward No-3 while similar meeting was organised by Marks Gill at Amphalla, Ward No-8, Jammu West. Organized under Jan Jagran programme of Congress, both the meetings were attended by a number of party leaders and activists besides locals. A number of youth also joined the Congress party on the occasion.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Kanta Bhan, Vijay Sharma, Pradeep Bhagat, Yash, Shamlal Bittu, Yash Salotra, Ch Mohan Lal, Rajesh Kapoor, Krishan, Rakesh Bhatti, Darvin Sotra, Yog Raj, Rakesh Kumar, Abhinandan Sharma, Shubham Dogra, Shubham Tak, Neeraj Dogra, Vinod Bhat, Sonu Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Shubham Mehra, Darpan Gandotra, Tarun Mehra, Sushil Mehra, Deepak Mehra, Aryan, Aftaf Malik, Shoket Ali, Govinda Bhadhur, Arif Iqbal, Ashu Verma, Manohar Joshi, Nikhil, Yog Raj, Daniel Sotra, Curnilius Gill, Martin Gill, Happy, Joginder Singh, Anish Gill and Ajay Gill.
The Congress leader further said that Modi- led Government has pushed 23 crore Indians below the poverty line, while Congress-UPA pulled 27 crore Indians above the poverty line in its 10 years of governance.
Welcoming the new entrants into party fold, Sawhney said that repeal of farm laws was an eye-opener for many proving that BJP government is not invincible and can be defeated when it poses danger to livelihoods of people. “Congress party’s mass awareness programme is the dawn of a new era where people are equipped with right information to fight against injustices of the government. Congress aims at ensuring unity, social harmony and equality,” said Sawhney, urging people to join hands with for giving a befitting reply to BJP as people have to defeat BJP to save India.
