LEH, Feb 19: Former Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (JTN) today called on Ashish Kundra, the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, to deliberate on several pressing matters of public importance.
During the meeting, JTN apprised the Chief Secretary of the growing public concern over the prolonged pendency of crucial administrative decisions, particularly those related to land issues, employment opportunities, trade matters, wildlife sanctuary denotifications and departmental promotion cases.
He emphasized that delays in these areas are directly impacting livelihoods and public confidence in governance.
The former MP urged the Administration to expedite pending cases, including land allotments, Nautor Intikal matters, lease extensions and land regularisation across the Union Territory.
He further advocated for the devolution of certain land-related powers from the Deputy Commissioners to the Tehsildars to ensure faster and more efficient disposal of cases at the grassroots level.
JTN also underscored the urgent need to formulate and notify a comprehensive Official Language Rules for the already declared official languages of the Union Territory of Ladakh, with particular emphasis on the implementation and promotion of the Bhoti language.
Welcoming the new Chief Secretary, JTN conveyed that the people of Ladakh hold high expectations from the newly joined Chief Secretary and the Administration under the dynamic leadership of LG Kavinder Gupta.
He expressed hope that decisive and time-bound action on pending issues would strengthen public trust and reinforce confidence in the governance of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
