3 drug peddlers arrested; 17 grams of heroin recovered

RAJOURI, Feb 19: Rajouri Police has arrested three drug peddlers in two separate incidents and recovered approximately 17 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance along with cash from their possession.
In the first incident, the police team of Police Station Rajouri, led by SHO Rajouri Inspector Hilal Azhar, was on routine patrolling and naka checking duty at Choudhary Nar in the Rahtal area. During checking, two suspicious persons attempted to flee on noticing the presence of the police party but were swiftly apprehended by the alert team.
Upon their personal search, approximately 11 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as Mohd Danish, son of Mohd Saber, resident of Chowkian Jabber, Darhal Rajouri and Niaz Ahmad, son of Imtiaz Ahmed, resident of Dodaj, Darhal Rajouri
In another success, the police party of Police Station Rajouri apprehended one person at Danidhar during routine checking. The accused, identified as Sanam Khan, son of Saleem Khan, resident of Danidhar, Rajouri, was found in possession of approximately six grams of heroin-like narcotic substance along with cash amounting to Rs 22,080 during search.
After registration of FIRs, further investigation in both the cases is underway to trace forward and backward linkages of the arrested persons and to identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking.
