Bali Bhagat slams Congress over AI Summit protest

JAMMU, Feb 22: Senior BJP leader and former Health Minister Bali Bhagat today launched a scathing attack on the Indian National Congress, accusing the party of disgracing the nation after members of its youth wing staged a topless protest during a prestigious global AI Summit hosted by India.
Condemning the actions of the Indian Youth Congress, Bhagat described the protest as a “betrayal of India’s image” and alleged it was deliberately designed to embarrass the country before an international audience.
“At a time when India is showcasing its innovation and technological leadership before the world, the Congress chose disruption over dignity. This is clearly meant to tarnish the nation’s image,” he said.
Launching a sharp attack on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Bhagat said the party’s conduct reflects its leadership. “Leadership sets the standard. When your leader behaves irresponsibly in public life, your cadre mirrors that behaviour,” he remarked.
He further intensified his criticism, stating, “If Mahatma Gandhi were alive today, seeing the state of the Congress, he would say that the Congress should be shut down. You may oppose PM Modi and the BJP, but how can you oppose the country?”
Bhagat accused the Congress of repeatedly attempting to derail India’s progress during crucial global engagements. “Time and again, the nation asks how low Congress can stoop. And every time, they shock us with a new level of shamelessness,” he said.
Calling the protest “low-level politics,” the BJP leader alleged that the youth workers were sent with the sole intention of creating disruption at a moment of national pride. “This was clearly designed to humiliate 140 crore Indians on the world stage. Their hostility towards PM Modi and India seems to know no limits,” he added.
