RAMBAN, Feb 22: Police here today solved a theft case and arrested two persons and recovered the stolen cash from them within 72 hours of registration of the FIR.
According to official sources, a case was registered in FIR No. 08/2026 under Section 303 of BNS on February 17, 2026 after a complaint was filed by Mohd Muzaffar, resident of Batibhass, who claimed that unidentified thieves broke a window pane of his shop and decamped with cash amounting to about Rs. 70,000-75,000.
The investigation was conducted by PSI Prince Jasrotia and after investigation two accused, Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Sattar, resident of Shagan, Khari and Mubaraq Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Koot, Khari were arrested.
On the disclosure made by the accused during interrogation, stolen cash amounting to Rs. 70,800 was recovered.
The recovered cash was seized following due legal procedure and further investigation in the case was underway.
