Police recovers car, jackers still at large

JAMMU, Feb 23: In a joint operation by Samba and Jammu police have recovered an Ertiga Car bearing Registration Number PB 01E -6042 from Kanachak area of Jammu district where it has been abandoned by the gang of carjackers.
While disclosing this police said the car which was jacked yesterday by carjackers has been recovered in a joint operation by Jammu and Samba police today in Rajpura area of Kanachak under the supervision of SHO, Kanachak, Manoj Dhar. However, the car lifters whose number is reportedly stated to be four are still at large and police has launched a manhunt to arrest them. Police is optimistic of arresting all the carjackers soon.
Police said four carjackers had hired a car from Dinanagar, Punjab yesterday on the pretext that they have to attend a marriage party at Vijaypur Samba in J&K and have to return during night as they have to attend the duty in the morning in a factory at Dinanagar (Pb). After reaching Vijaypur they turned the car towards Kolpur and dragged the driver out of it, beat him ruthlessly and fled away with the car during late last night.
The driver however managed to reach Vijaypur and filed a report at Vijaypur Police Station.
The Police flashed message to different police stations through PCR and in the joint operation by both Samba and Jammu police the car was recovered from Rajpura area of Kanachak, Jammu this afternoon.
