Alexander Memorial School holds outdoor learning programme

JAMMU, Feb 24: Students of Alexander Memorial School, Residency Road, Jammu, embarked on an eye-opening two-day learning program linking their Civics lessons to real-world governance. Class 6 students visited the City Police Station, Shalimar Road, under SDPO Vikram Bhau and SHO Shakti Sharma, learning about law and order, FIR filing, crime prevention, community policing and the digitalization of records. They also toured the lock-up and record rooms, gaining insights into police work and the importance of good civic behaviour.
Meanwhile, Class 7 students visited the Tehsildar Jammu Office, where Paramdeep Singh Chouhan explained land revenue procedures, dispute resolution and certificates including income, domicile and EWS. The interactive sessions encouraged curiosity and reinforced textbook lessons.
The program was organized under the guidance of Administrator Esther William, Principal Marshlaw Khokhar and Social Studies teacher Sonia Sharma, providing students with a practical understanding of governance and civic responsibility.
