Mission Shakti organizes physiotherapy session

JAMMU, Feb 25: In a continued effort to promote women’s health and community well-being, Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu, Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir National Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKNRLM), organised a Physiotherapy Awareness and Wellness Session at Village Krishanpur Kharta block Dansal .
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from women, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, and local women. The initiative aimed to spread awareness regarding the importance of physiotherapy in managing joint pain, postural problems, muscular disorders, and lifestyle-related ailments, particularly among women engaged in household and agricultural activities.
Dr. Meenakshi (Physiotherapist) for the session, demonstarted on correct posture techniques, simple therapeutic exercises, and discussed about the importance of early intervention in musculoskeletal issues. She also conducted practical demonstrations of easy-to-perform exercises that can be incorporated into daily routines to improve flexibility, strength, and overall physical well-being. Participants actively engaged in the session and clarified their health-related concerns.
On the occasion, District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda, sensitized the participants about various Government welfare schemes aimed at women empowerment, financial inclusion, health support, and social security. She highlighted the importance of women’s active participation in Self-Help Groups and encouraged them to take full advantage of schemes under Mission Shakti and allied departments for their socio-economic upliftment. In order to promote the menstrual hygiene sanitary napkins were distributed by Sarika Chopra Founder of Venura Candles.
