R S Pura, Feb 27 : A coin and note exchange mela organized by the UCO Bank Currency Chest Raghunath Bazaar along with UCO Bank R S Pura Branch was held here today.
The event was supported by Reserve Bank of India.
It is an initiative of RBI to provide a convenient platform for people to exchange old, soiled and damaged currency notes and coins.
The main objective of the fair was distribution of Fresh notes and coins of all denominations.
During the event, approximately 250 attendees exchanged their currency for new notes and coins, of Rs 11.00 Lakh (approx).
During the event, RBI Jammu officials educated attendees on the Note Refund Rules and Clean Note Policy, highlighting the guidelines for handling and exchanging currency.
They also briefed participants on the security features of currency notes and the process for exchanging damaged currency, empowering them with essential knowledge to navigate financial transactions confidently.
Among others who were present during the event included the Officials from RBI, UCO Bank AGM Santosh Kumar, Currency Chest In-charge Vijay Kumar, Narinder Singh, UCO Bank Railway Road Branch Head Ramesh Singh Chib, SME Marketing Head Harsh Gupta , Branch Head R S Pura Abinandan Ganotra and ABH Narinder Choudhary.
