The Supreme Court order granting former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh protection from arrest in cases against him in the state, has come as an embarrassment to the MVA government. To make things worse, it has now emerged that the government missed the opportunity to press its case against Singh in the apex court -it had not filed a caveat in response to his appeal.
