JAMMU, Mar 10: The volleyball tournament organised by Jammu Police under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 concluded at Government Degree College ground, Bishnah, with enthusiastic participation from teams across the region.
The tournament witnessed participation from eight teams representing Bishnah, Arnia, RS Pura and Miran Sahib areas and attracted a large number of local spectators who gathered to witness the matches.
MLA Bishnah Dr Rajiv Bhagat attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest, while former MLA Bishnah Ashwani Kumar was the guest of honour. Among others present on the occasion were SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad Hussain Rather, SDPO RS Pura Gurmeet Singh, SHO Bishnah Rakesh Jamwal and other officers from the Headquarter Zone. Members of the media fraternity and several prominent local residents were also present during the event.
The final match was played between Rajput Warriors Mian Chak, Bishnah and Shahpur Warriors Shahpur, Bishnah. In an exciting contest, Rajput Warriors Mian Chak emerged as champions after defeating Shahpur Warriors Shahpur by 2-1. The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies and sports accessories.
SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad Hussain Rather said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to engaging youth through sports activities as a constructive initiative to keep them away from drug abuse and other social evils.
