JAMMU, Mar 11: Parents of five Doda boys doing MBBS in Iran are worried about the well being of their sons in the war zone and have urged the Government of India for evacuation of these boys back to their homes.
Dr. Zakir Hussain from Gandoh, Bhalessa said his son is doing MBBS in Iran along with many other students from J&K and many other parts of the world.
He said that his son Faisl Jameel Bhat is in the final year of MBBS and during his last talk with him, Faisl informed him that there was an atmosphere of panic in Iran and if they are evacuated to India, it would be a good thing.
Dr. Hussain further said that like last time when there was a war between Iran and Israel-US, the students from India were safely evacuated back to their homes, this time also the parents expect that the such students should be evacuated back to their homes so that their parents may heave a sigh of relief.
“We are in contact with the External Affairs Ministry (EAM) and other parents of the stranded students,” he maintained adding that EAM has stated that whenever situation improves, they will evacuate the students back to their homes.
He urged the Governments of India and Iran to shift their children to safer places.
Tanveer Ahmed of Changa, Bhalessa, whose son Tasnveer Ul Huda has only left 6 months to complete the MBBS degree.
“My son is at an apartment in Iran where daily missiles hit in the adjoining areas and there is an atmosphere of fear,” Tanveer said urging PM Modi and Foreign Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar for evacuating his son back to his home.
Similar concern was expressed by the three other persons of Doda like Shaz Ali whose son Mushtaq Ahmed; Mohd Owais whose son Altaf Hussain and Arsal whose son Shuja Hussain are stranded in Iran during the ongoing conflict.
