JAMMU, Mar 11: A monthly meeting of Police veterans of District Jammu was held here today under the chairmanship of Karanjit Singh, president Ex Policemen League District Jammu.
At the outset, a two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls of Krishan Singh Samyal and former Deputy Director Prosecution, Sayeed Afaaq who died recently.
After this, many important issues like forming of executive committee for all legal purpose and administration of League, to hold seminars at schools and colleges on drug abuse and promotion of sports, special coaching for children of retired cops for competitive examinations, implementation of special schemes for the welfare of Police veterans, renewal of weapons licences of Ex-Policemen, availability of free medicines to the retired cops especially at Police Hospitals and removal of pension disparities of same ranks etc were discussed.
The meeting was attended by veterans including SSPs Kanwar Ranjit Singh, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, president Senior Citizens Club Udhampur, Sarwar Chohan, Makhan Lal Sharma, SPs B.L Koul, V.S Kundal, DSPs Payar Singh Katoch, Satpal Sharma, Mohan Singh, J.S Chib, senior vice president, Ajay Punjabi, C.M Bakshi, P.R Shan, B.L Sharma and others including Satpal Singh, Ramesh Sharma, office secretary, Dhian Singh, V.S Bali, Manohar Lal Ratta, secretary, Parkash Dingra, Avtar Singh and Ashok Kumar, office in-charge.
