2 killed at Kawar Hydro Project

KISHTWAR, Mar 11: Two persons working in the under construction Kawar Hydro Electric Project lost their lives in two different incidents during the last 24 hours raising serious concern over the safety management of workers deployed at project site.
As per reports, driver of a dumper was electrocuted when his vehicle came in contact with a high tension wire.
Locals informed that while unloading the dumper at the project site, driver Karnail Singh of Chenani, Udhampur was electrocuted.
The workers mourned his death and stopped the work at the project site.
Meanwhile, in afternoon a blast was carried out by the project management due to which one worker came under the lose boulders and received serious injuries.
He was rushed to District Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
He has been identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Gian Chand, resident of Guwari Tikroo, Chamba (HP).
This is the 3rd incident in this month and raises questions over the safety of workers at the project site.
