JAMMU, Mar 12: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu & Kashmir has expressed deep concern over the distressed being faced by Kashmin students studying in the B Sc. Nursing program at Mewar University, Rajasthan, who are experiencing uncertainty regarding the legitimacy and recognition of their nursing program.
Talking to media persons, here today, ABVP State Secretary, Sanak Shrivats said it has come to light that the program allegedly lacks necessary approvals from the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Rajasthan Nursing Council (RNC).
He alleged that when students sought clarification from the university administration regarding the recognition of their course and the security of their academic future, several Kashmiri students were detained by local police, and an FIR was registered against them during the protest.
“More than forty students, many of whom are nearing the completion of their degrees, are now facing immense mental stress and uncertainty regarding their educational future Such treatment of students who are simply demanding clarity and justice is deeply unfortunate,” said the ABVP leader and urged the Government of Rajasthan to immediately intervene and resolve the matter in the students’ interest.
