SRINAGAR, Mar 15: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday handed over an appointment letter on compassionate grounds to the wife of Crime Branch photographer who was killed in the Nowgam police station blast last year.
An official spokesperson said the appointment letter was given to Shabeena Bashir, wife of deceased constable (photographer) Javid Mansoor Rather of Crime Branch Jammu and Kashmir Police, who was martyred in Nowgam’s accidental blast.
Sinha assured all possible assistance and support from the administration to the bereaved family, the spokesperson said.
Rather was among the nine persons killed in the blast due to the huge cache of explosives kept at the Nowgam police station in November last year.
The explosives were seized from Faridabad as part of a crackdown on white collar terror in which several doctors were arrested.
