Shaheen meets Union Minister, demands special package

NEW DELHI, Mar 20: The president of Janta Dal United (JDU), J&K, G.M Shaheen, here today met Union Minister for Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and held a detailed discussion regarding revival and promotion of tourism in J&K.
During the meeting, Shaheen emphasized the urgent need for a special tourism package for J&K, highlighting the immense potential of the region and the recent challenges faced by the tourism sector.
He urged the Government of India to take concrete steps to boost tourist inflow, generate employment and support local businesses associated with the industry.
The Minister assured full cooperation from the Central Government and said that tourism in J&K will be significantly boosted in coming months with focused initiatives and policy support.
He also informed that a special Vande Bharat Express train service is planned from Delhi to Kashmir, which will further enhance connectivity and attract a large number of domestic tourists to the region.
