DF&SS protests against hike in prices of commodities, adulteration

JAMMU, Mar 21: Activists of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS), here today, under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta, organised a protest rally against the hike in the prices of flowers and alleged adulteration in the consumable items for fasting people.
Addressing the protesters, Gupta said while on Eid, prices of certain commodities used in the festival are fixed by the government but on the other hand during Navratras and Karwachauth, the much used thing like flowers are sold at exorbitant prices and the roses are presently being sold at Rs. 500 per kg.
He further claimed that adulterated milk products are being sold to the consumers during the ongoing Navratras.
“Fruits and vegetables are being sold at a very high price as potatoes are being sold at Rs. 30/ kg,” the DF&SS leader maintained adding: “The people who are indulged in black marketing and adulteration of goods should be punished and the Legal Metrology as well as the JMC should increase checking of food items so that the people can be saved from the adulterated edibles.”
Abhishek, Ashish, Bantu, Prem, Vinay, Devinder, Suresh, Amit and many others were also present in the rally.
