Zangtrai celebrated with great fervor, gaiety by KP community

JAMMU, Mar 21: Zangtrai, the third Navratra observed as Nari Shakti day was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety by Kashmiri Pandit community across Jammu today.
Zangtrai function was celebrated with great fanfare and gaiety at K. P Sabha here. The large number of ladies along with their families participated in the function.
Dr. Indu Koul was the Chief Guest over the function which was presided over by K. K. Khosa, president of K.P Sabha. The hymns in the praise of Ganesh and Goddess Durga were recited by acclaimed and renowned Kashmiri vocalist Ravi Bhan enthralling the audience with his melodious devotional songs.
President K. K. Khosa welcomed the august gathering, and desired for greater and responsible role of community women folk in transforming the community into a model society.
Dr. Indu Koul, enlightened the women on the religious significance of Zang Tri and appealed for active participation in the programmes organized by Sabha from time to time. She explained the significance of Zangtri Festival. She also stressed the need of Kashmiri women in educating the Kashmiri youth about their cultural and religious values.
Others who graced the occasion were Ashok Braroo, the Executive Members of Sabha who participated includes Deepak Dhar, Ashwani Koul, S. L. Bagati, Subash Dhar, Rajinder Tiku, Jitender Parimoo, Asha Kitchloo, Dr. Usha Tickoo, Vinod Bhat, V. K. Bakshi, Satish Khoda, V K. Mukhi, S. K. Koul, B. B. Gosani.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Sujata Sathoo and G.J. Kampasi Secretary presented the vote of thanks.
A grand function was held at the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri in this regard.
The proceedings commenced with floral offerings to Bhagawaan Gopinathji, followed by a soulful rendition of Guru-Vandana.
Ashok Kumar Razdan, president and Sohan Krishen Khordi, secretary of the Trust, introduced the chief guest, Ms. Sandhya Dhar, a prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar recipient and renowned differently challenged rights activist.
In a special gesture of recognition, the Trust also honored Ms. Rikita Bhan, a successful UPSC qualifier, as the guest of honour for her outstanding achievement.
Hundreds of ladies participated in the function. Artists of repute Deepali Wattal, Shanti Lal Sid, and others presented melodious devotional songs on this occasion.
As a ritual, a small packet of salt and Rs. 5/- was distributed among the ladies as a token of purity, love and Prasad from Bhagawaanji.
Zang-Tria, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm today at Sanskriti Bhawan, Roop Nagar, Jammu, by Ramakrishna Shiksha Kendra, Shopian Trust.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by B.L Saraf (Retd. District & Session Judge) and President P.L. Tickoo, who honoured the chief guest Swami Kumar Ji and guests of honour Radhe Das and Avanish Ji.
On the occasion, soulful and devotional bajans were presented by Naina Saproo, whose performance deeply resonated with the audience. She was assisted by Dr. Ramesh Nirash, Dileep Bhat, Virender Bhat, and Harish Bharti, adding to the spiritual ambience of the event.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the significance of preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Kashmiri Pandit community. They emphasized that in the face of modern challenges and changing lifestyles, it is imperative not to dilute traditional values and practices that define our identity.
Zangtrai festival was celebrated at Mata Bhaderkali Asthapan Trust Thalwal with fervour and gaiety in which large number of women of KP community participated. Elaborate arrangements were made for the participants by the Trust.
The programme was graced by Dr Indu Koul , renowned Gynaecologist and former HOD Gynaecology Department GMC Jammu as chief guest. Shiv Prasad Raina noted Sanskrit scholar was the guest of honour.
The programme was compared by Urmila Bhat and welcome address was given by Roopa Pandita. Pushpa Ji, president Matarashakti Wing , elaborated on cultural and spiritual significance of the festival. The vote of thanks was proposed by Kiran Bhat.
