Charioteer of India’s ‘Amrit Kaal’: UP CM as Modi becomes longest-serving head of govt

LUCKNOW, Mar 22 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Sunday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing a record 8,931 days in public life.
In a post on X in Hindi, Yogi Adityanath said, “Heartiest congratulations to the Prime Minister @narendramodi jee — the ‘sarathi’ (charioteer) of the nation’s ‘Amrit Kaal’, who remains committed to the happiness, prosperity and contentment of 1.45 billion Indians — on becoming India’s longest-serving Head of Government.
“Dedicated to the realisation of a ‘Developed India’ (Viksit Bharat), this historic milestone stands as a powerful symbol to the unwavering public trust reposed in you,” he added.
“Under your illustrious leadership illuminated by the spirit of ‘Nation First’, the vision of ‘Antyodaya se Rashtrodaya’ (from the upliftment of the last person to the rise of the nation) is taking concrete shape. Moving on the righteous path of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas’, India has established new dimensions in the realms of development, good governance, and global prestige,” the CM said.
“I pray to Lord Shri Ram that, under your able leadership, India continues to march forward on the path of continuous progress, prosperity, and glory,” he further said on X.
Prime Minister Modi on Sunday surpassed the 8,930-day record of former Sikkim chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling to become the longest-serving head of a government in India.
Modi took the oath as the Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001.
He continued in the post until May 26, 2014, when he was sworn in as the prime minister after leading the BJP to victory with 282 seats in the general elections, making it the first non-Congress party to secure a clear majority. (PTI)
