NIA raids at multiple locations across J&K in Delhi blast case

SRINAGAR, Mar 23: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted searches at multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing investigation into the November 10 car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort.

The raids and searches were carried out in Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara and Kulgam districts of Kashmir and Jammu district at the premises of the persons linked to individuals arrested in connection with the “terror module” behind the blast, which killed 11 people and wounded 32 others.
The NIA sleuths this morning raided the residence of a businessman, Abdullah Qayoom Mir, a resident of Guloora area of Handwara in Kupwara district, in connection with the Delhi Red Fort blast case.
The raid was conducted in the early hours of the morning as part of the agency’s ongoing investigation. A team of NIA officials, accompanied by security personnel, reached the location and carried out searches.
The officials examined important documents, electronic devices including mobile phones and laptops, and other materials for potential evidence.
The seized items are being closely analysed to establish any possible links related to the case.
A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police from the NIA Headquarters, New Delhi, carried out a raid at the residence of Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla, son of Naseer Ahmad Malla, in Bonapora Shatloo, Rafiabad area in Baramulla district this morning.
Dr. Malla has already been named in connection with the Delhi blast case and is presently in NIA custody in New Delhi.
Officials stated that the search is aimed at gathering further evidence related to the case. Mobile phones and other incriminating documents were seized from his residence.
The NIA also carried out a raid at the residence of a labourer Aqib Ahmad Bhat in Kulgam area. His father Dilawar Ahmad Bhat was killed by terrorists in 1990. The NIA has seized incriminating documents from Bhat’s residence.
They also raided the residence of Zameer Ahmad Ahangar son of Mohmmad Ismail Ahangar at Wakura village in district Ganderbal this morning. During the searches some incriminating documents were seized.
The NIA also conducted a raid in Nowgam area of Srinagar and seized incriminating documents from a house of a suspect.
An NIA spokesman in a statement said that as part of its continuing investigation in the Delhi Red Fort area bomb blast case, the NIA today conducted extensive searches at several locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The counter-terror agency, which is pursuing various leads in the case RC – 21/2025/NIA/DLI, searched nine locations in the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Jammu, Kulgam, Ganderbal and Handwara. “Several digital devices were seized during the searches and the same have been sent for forensic analysis”.
A total of 11 accused have been arrested till date for their roles in the deadly blast that shook the national capital on 10th November 2025, killing several persons and injuring many others. The prime accused, Umer Un Nabi, was also killed in the lethal explosion. NIA found during investigation that Umer had masterminded the blast conspiracy in coordination with arrested co-accused and others.
The agency said it is continuing with its efforts to unravel the larger conspiracy behind the terror attack and to identify others involved in the plot to spread mayhem and destabilise the country.
