AKHNOOR, Mar 24: A well organized get-together and certificate/prize distribution function was conducted by 8 JAK RIF (Jammu & Kashmir Rifles) at Government Higher Secondary School Sohai in Akhnoor today.
The event aimed to encourage and recognise the efforts of children who successfully competed venous skill development and educational courses conducted under Army outreach initiatives. The function witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and war widows, Sarpanches and School Children reflecting strong community bonding and trust between the Army and local residents.
The Commander, 52 Brigade Brig DN Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest and appreciated the youths for their dedication and achievements. He emphasized the importance of education, skill development, and nation-buildIng among youth, and assured continued support of the Indian Army in uplifting communities.
The Chairman, Akhnoor Ex-sevicemen Association, Lakhlair Singh Sohal attended as the guest of honour and lauded the commendable efforts of Commanding Officer 8 JAK RIF in organizing such meaningful initiatives for the welfare of society, especially for families of Ex-Servicemen and underprivileged children.
During the event, many Dignitaries including SDM, SDPO, SHO Akhnoor, Principal and staff of School and ITI Jammu also graced the function by participating and distributing certificates and prizes to the participating children who had completed various courses, boosting their confidence and encouraging them to pursue further education and skill enhancement.
The event concluded with a message of unity, empowerment and continued cooperation between the Army and civil society for holistic development of the region.
