JAMMU, Mar 26: An alleged bootlegger was arrested with illicit liquor in Akhnoor area here today.
Officials said during routine patrolling at Bomal, a team of Police Station Akhnoor raided a roadside eatery on suspicion of illegal activity.
During the raid, the owner of the eatery was found selling illicit liquor to customers, they said.
Accordingly, the accused, identified as Vijay Singh of Devipur, Tehsil Jourian, District Jammu, was arrested with 9 quarters of 180 ml illicit liquor and booked in case FIR number 67/2026 under section 48(f) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor, officials said.
They said further investigation into the matter is underway.
