JAMMU, March 29: A free Medical Camp was held at Guru Ravi Dass Temple at Krishna Nagar here today.
The camp was supervised by the Managing Committee members of the Ravidass Sabha and inaugurated by Romesh Uttama, former Additional District Development Commissioner, along with senior social activist Tulsi Langeh.
Senior members of the Sabha including R C Bhasin, Tarsem Loach and other members were also present. Logistical support for the camp was provided by Diva International Foundation and Devinder Kour Charitable Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Romesh Uttama highlighted that such medical camps provide much-needed relief to economically weaker sections and elderly citizens amid rising healthcare costs. Tulsi Langeh appreciated the Sabha’s efforts in social, religious, and educational spheres and extended his best wishes for its future initiatives.
A team of doctors led by Dr Sanjay Bhasin, Laparoscopic Surgeon, along with specialists from 11 different fields, provided free medical services to 217 patients. Services were offered in areas including Medicine, Oncology, ENT, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Dentistry, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Surgery, and Physiotherapy. Additionally, 110 patients benefited from basic medical tests and vision screening, including eye care services by expert specialists.
Bhasin expressed gratitude to the supporting organisations and medical team, reaffirming the Sabha’s commitment to continue welfare activities for the community.
Prominent members who participated in the camp were Prof GL Thapa, Prof CL Shivgotra, Tara Chand, Kuldeep Thapa, Bodh Raj Kalsi, Madan Basson, MR Bangotra, Krishan Sarangal, Rangesh Hans, Ashok Basson, Des Raj Sarangal, and others.
