REASI/SAMBA/KATHUA, Mar 31: The 2025 District Table Tennis Championships concluded across Reasi, Samba, and Kathua, showcasing emerging talent and competitive spirit among young and seasoned players under the initiative “My Youth, My Pride,” organized under the aegis of the J&K Table Tennis Association and J&K Sports Council.
In Reasi, Aniket claimed the Men’s Singles title by defeating Rishav 3-1, while Vipan emerged victorious in the Veteran Men category, beating Aseem Chadha 3-2. In the junior categories, Ransh won Hopes Boys (U-11), Rudransh was runner-up; Yuvna lifted Hopes Girls (U-11), Vaishnavi was runner-up; Avantika won Sub-Junior Girls (U-15), Kamakshaya was runner-up; and Ransh secured Sub-Junior Boys (U-15), Vinayak was runner-up. The tournament was officiated by Shivangi Jamwal, TT Coach. The opening ceremony was graced by chief guest Alok Kumar Maurya, Additional CEO, SMVD Shrine Board, with Priyanka Maurya and Dhruv Gupta as guests of honour.
At Samba, Shivansh clinched Men’s Singles, defeating Mohit 3-1, while Ritika lifted the Women’s Singles title, defeating Gundeep Kaur 3-2. Cadet Boys (U-13) winner was Jatin Verma, runner-up Bhavesh Guleria; Junior Boys (U-17) winner Amritansh Pargal, runner-up Nishant; Junior Girls (U-17) winner Ayushi Katal, runner-up Jyotsna Singh; Under-19 Boys winner Mohit Jasrotia, runner-up Shivansh. The chief guest on the occasion was Shakti Gupta, Manager, Indoor Sports Complex Samba, and guests of honour Arif Wani, Keshav Singh, and Gaurav Singh presided over the event.
In Kathua, Anoop Pathak defeated Rakesh Singh 3-1 to win Men’s Singles, while Rohit Sharma lifted the Under-17 Boys title, defeating Mandeep Singh 3-2. Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) winner was Tanishq, runner-up Aarav Jasrotia; Under-19 Boys winner Divesh Singh, runner-up Gaurav Sharma. The chief guest on the occasion was Pawan Pal Sharma, with guests of honour Ratan Bharti and Tilak inaugurating the championship.
These tournaments provided a platform for over 150 participants from different districts to display their skill, determination, and sportsmanship, further strengthening grassroot table tennis in Jammu and Kashmir.
