POONCH: District Volleyball (men and women) Championship, organised by District Volleyball Association, started on Monday at Sports Stadium, here under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK).
The opening match played between Shaheed Manjit Singh Club and Mandi Club. Earlier, the competition declared open by Chief Account Officer of District Fund Office, Mohd Farhad Saddique, who was the Chief Guest.
Other prominent persons present were Nirdosh Kumar Sharma (Manager Sports Stadium), Mushtaq Ahmed (Boxing coach), Mohd Tariq Khan (Chairman Shaheed Manjit Club), Mukesh Sharma (PTI GDC Poonch), Pawan Kumar (PEL DYSS), Ramiz Tariq (Volleyball coach), Daljeet Singh (PEM) and Sanjay Raina (PET). Sourab Sharma is the Convenor of this championship while Neeraj Sharma is Organising Secretary.
The technical panel comprised Shafqat Hussein Shah, Jatinder Pal, Sachin Sharma, Aman Sharma and Ram Parkash Sharma.
