Two killed, another injured as house collapsed in Poonch Water-tanker falls into gorge in Kishtwar; 3 killed

Jammu: A 14-year-old girl and her aunt were killed while another minor was injured as their mud house collapsed in Poonch district here on Saturday, officials said.
A ‘Kachha’ house belonging to Ashaq Hussain in Mangnar village near Poonch town collapsed abruptly, trapping trio inside, the officials said. The impact of collapse was so intense that Hussain’s wife Zareena Akhtar (26) and niece Rahila Kousar (14) died on the spot while locals rescued the couple’s eight-year-old daughter Asma, they said. She was rushed to hospital. The cause of collapse was not immediately known, they said.
Meanwhile, three people were killed when a water-tanker skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Kishtwar district, officials said. A private tanker carrying three people was moving near under-construction Kiru Hydro-electric project when its driver lost control over the vehicle and rolled down into a gorge near Pathernaki village, they said. The bodies of Tariq Hussain (30), Yasir Muneer (18) and Arsalan (18), all residents of Padder, were recovered from the site of accident.
