Jammu: Police on Thursday foiled smuggling bids by rescuing 46 bovines in separate incidents and seized six vehicles.
As per details, Nagrota Police rescued 8 bovines in a vehicle during Naka checking at TCP Nagrota Naka. The vehicle (JK02BH-7542) has also been seized. FIR No.467/2021 under section 188 of IPC 11 of PCA was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started. The recovery was made by SHO Nagrota Insp Vishav Pratap Singh under supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
Meanwhile, Poonch police foiled smuggling bids and rescued twenty three bovine animals at Bafliaz on Mughal road. SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra said that a police team intercepted two vehicles at Bafliaz in Surankote and rescued twenty three animals which were being smuggled. He said that cognizance under relevant sections of law has been taken in police station Surankote and further investigation is going on while vehicles, being used in the crime, have also been seized.
In another action, on specific information Insp Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday SHO Police Station Chatroo along with his team under supervision of Dy SP DAR DPL Zia-Ul-Haq laid a Naka at Kalamsui Passerkot area of Chatroo. While checking, three Tata Mobiles (JK17-8326, JK17-8919 & JK02CM-3726) were checked and 15 bovines were found laden in them, which were rescued. The vehicles were seized and 4 smugglers were arrested on the spot. FIR No. 73/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chatroo.
