STATE TIMES NEWS VIJAYPUR: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, Manjit Singh has sought intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha as the Revenue Dept. has failed to speed up distribution of PM’s Package to the Displaced Persons. “The miseries of Displaced Persons have not decreased even after the announcement of the PM’s Package for them. Four years have passed but there is no progress made by the Revenue Dept,” said Manjit Singh in a statement to the press. Expressing his anguish over the delaying tactic adopted by the officials for one reason or other, Manjit Singh said that it was unfortunate that the DPs have been put to suffering. “The distribution of the package to the DPs is being delayed due to unknown reasons. The officers who are delaying the package to the DPs should be held accountable for their grass negligence of their duty,” said In these four years, he said, the Revenue Dept. has not been able to distribute the PM’s Package and compelled the DPs to visit the office repeatedly. “It is mental and physical harassment of the DPs who have already lost their farming land in the Indo-Pak wars. As the Revenue Dept has failed, the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha should intervene and ensure the DPs get justice,” he said. He said that the Lt Governor should fix a time period for complete distribution of the package so that the people are not compelled to face more problems. “The files are pending with the concerned Dept and it should speed up the process so that the package can be distributed among the DPs without further delay,” he added.
