JAMMU: Crime Branch of J&K Police has presented a charge-sheet against 4 fraudsters for cheating gullible youth on pretext of arranging Govt job for them in lieu of money.
As per an official spokesperson of the investigating agency, the sleuth of Crime Branch Jammu presented charge-sheet against Arshad Hussain Bhat, son of Gh Mohd Bhat, resident of Duroo, Sopore, Baramulla presently working in J&K Fire & Emergency Services; Saroop Lal, son of Manga Ram, resident of Ward-4 Rajiv Colony, Bari-Brahmana; Mustaq Ahmed Dar, son of Gh Mohd Dar, resident of Pura Path Handwara Kashmir, a Daily-Wager in PHE Handwara and Pawan Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar, resident of 730/3, Last Matador Stand, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu in FIR No. 45/2015 under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of RPC read with 5/2 of PC Act, registered at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for their involvement in cheating complainant on pretext of providing Govt jobs. The official further said that a written complaint was lodged by one Naveen Raina, son of S K Raina, resident of 1371 Bharat Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu, alleging that in 2013 accused Pawan Kumar @ Rahul, who was known to him, told him that he could get him employed in the Government Department for Rs 3 lakh with a guaranteed salary of Rs 13,000 per month. On payment of advance money, accused took the complainant to PHE Office, B C Road, Jammu, where he called Saroop Lal and asked complainant to submit his joining. Even after payment of Rs 3 lakh to accused, the complainant received less salary from accused due to which he demanded his money back, he added. “Subsequently, a cheque of Rs 50,000 was provided to him by accused Saroop Lal but rest of the amount was not returned and after waiting for quite some time it was found that appointment order provided by accused was fake and forged and complainant has been cheated. On receipt of the complaint, Crime Branch Jammu initiated preliminary verification and during course of enquiry the allegations leveled were prima-facie substantiated, leading to registration of instant criminal case against suspects. During course of investigation, documentary/oral evidence was gathered together with all relevant material. Statement of witnesses was also recorded both under sections 164-A of CrPC and 161 of Cr.PC besides collection of other circumstantial evidence. Subsequently, charge-sheet was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Jammu for judicial determination,” he added.
