POONCH: On the occasion of 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas, Indian Army Poonch Brigade organised “Run for Unity” in which approx 300 participants included youth from nearby villages: Kausaliyan, Gulpur, Noorkote, Degwar, boys and girls from sports complex Poonch, children from Bal Ashram, Poonch and soldiers of Indian Army and BSF. “Run for Unity” T-Shirt and participation certificate was presented to each participant.
Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and retired porters who dedicated their life in service of the nation were also present on the occasion. They were felicitated with blankets and shawls.
UDHAMPUR: 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with traditional fervour at the Udhampur Military station. The day began with a wreath laying ceremony at the Dhruva War Memorial by Major General Saiyed Qamur Ahmed, MGGS (SD & WE), Northern Command. Wreaths were laid in honour of those soldiers who stood beyond the true traditions of the Indian Army and made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation. The officers and men paid a heartfelt tribute to their gallant fallen comrades and their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The befitting tribute has been paid by laying of wreath by two senior veterans, one junior most soldier, one NCC cadet and the MGGS (SD & WE), Headquarter Northern Command. The day has been embossed in gold by the blood of those who never came back and words truly hold a lot of weight “For our today, they gave their tomorrow”.
Dudu: Government Degree College Dudu Basant Garh organised an online inter-college poetry writing competition on the occasion of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. In this competition students wrote poems in English, Hindi, and Dogri languages on the theme of Patriotism to pay tributes to the armed forces war who sacrificed their lives while serving the motherland. The competition took place under the supervision and guidance of Principal GDC Dudu Basantgarh Dr. Bhavnaish Chand. Organizing Secretary Prof. Pradeep Kumar and competition coordinator Prof. Rahul Sharma took the initiative and gave the chance to the students to participate in this patriotic online event. In this competition Surjeet Kumar of Sem- IInd of GDC Dudu Basantgarh got Ist position, Vishal Magotra of Sem- IVth and Palma Devi of sem. IInd of host college shared 2nd position while Muskan Sharma BA Sem-IVth from GDC Nagrota clinched 3rd position.
NOWSHERA: A drawing competition was organised on the occasion of ‘KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS’ under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade at Govt Middle School, Pind Narian. Total 30 children participated in the competition. The competition was conducted in three groups. First group comprised children of class I to III, second group of class IV to VI and third group of class VII to VIII. The prizes were distributed to first three students of each group.
SUNDERBANI: A tricolour rally was out taken in Sunderbani under the chairmanship of Block Development Council (BDC) Sunderbani Arun Kumar Sharma who also submitted memorandum to ADM Sunderbani Vinod Kumar Benhal about delimitation of constituencies.
Hundreds of people holding Nation Flag took out rally from Sunderbani City to ADM office and also raised slogans demanding constituency in Sunderbani. Sarpanch Lok Nath Suden, Sarpanch Mohan Singh, Panch Harmeet Kour, panch Naresh Kumar and others.
RS PURA: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, 2nd Girls Battalion NCC Cadets of NCC paid tributes to Kargil Martyr Rifleman Tarsem Lal by reaching Gandli village of Block RS Pura and also met his family members. During this, NCC cadets also conducted a cleanliness drive at the Martyr’s Statue site.
Under the supervision of Professor Shaveta Chowdhary of Government Degree College RS Pura, NCC cadets paid a true tribute to the martyr by laying flowers on the statue.
On this occasion, Sarpanch of Gandli Panchayat, Gurdeep Singh Saini and other representatives paid tributes to the martyr Tarsem Lal.
On this occasion, Professor Shaveta Chowdhary said that she has tried to meet the family members of the martyr as well as know their problems and whatever problems they are facing, efforts will be made to get it resolved by reaching the higher authorities.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Gurdeep Singh Saini said that it is a matter of pride for the Panchayat that the youth of his Panchayat (Martyr Tarsem Lal) have been martyred while protecting the country. On the occasion, a large number of local people including Naib Sarpanch Pyarelal, Panch Satya Devi, Panch Pawan Singh, Harjinder Singh, Chairman Darshan Singh and Amar Singh Charak were also present.
BASOHLI: Under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, NCC unit of GDC Basohli honoured the martyrs of Kargil War to commemorate the Kargil Vijay Diwas. ANO Dr. Papinder Kumar and NCC cadets of GDC Basohli gathered at the Martha Nagrota Chowk and paid homage to Shaheed Rajinder Singh, 12th Battalion, JKLI, by presenting garlands to the statue of the martyred. After this, they visited the house of Shaheed Rajinder Singh and presented the memento to his mother as a token of love and gratitude. In the second facilitation of the day, the NCC team went to the residence of Shaheed Jagan Nath Sharma of village Kotla, P/o Poonda, Teh. Mahanpur of district Kathua, and presented souvenir of respect, a memento, to his wife Darshna Sharma. Dr. Nidhi Kotwal, Principal, GDC Basohli also paid homage to the martyrs of Kargil war and commended the efforts of NCC unit of the college.
THANNAMANDI: In continuation to Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav NCC unit of GDC Thannamandi celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas .On the occasion NCC cadets of the college participated in online poster making competition and delivered short Video clip speech to honor the Kargil war heroes who laid down their life for the country. In poster making competition Danyal Tanveer of Sem 4th , Mohd Asif of sem 4th and Danish Qayoom of sem 6th secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd Position Respectively.
Speaking on the occasion principal Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi motivated the cadets to serve the nation and also appreciated the efforts of NCC unit and ANO Prof. Ajaz Nazir. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Raheela Mushtaq Convener Cultural and Literary Committee.
POUNI: On the request of community and in compliance with the orders of DSEJ under the stewardship of Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma Director School Education Jammu and Mohd Aziz CEO Reasi, Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed at hilly hamlet Ikhani of winter zone Pouni district Reasi where locals including kids presented tributes to the brave martyrs of Operation Vijay.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma Teacher said such programmes of national interest are the part of school curriculum through which patriotism and communal harmony can be strengthened among youth for national development.
Mohd Naib Sarpanch Kotla also expressed deep gratitude towards martyrs who has sacrificed their lives for our safety.its our duty to remember them with high spirits on such occasions,he added.

REASI: NCC units of General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas by organising an intra-college online poster making and message competition. Students were asked to write messages for the soldiers thanking them for their contribution towards the nation. Students were also asked to make posters on “Kargil Vijay Diwas”. First prize in poster competition was won by Priyanka Devi of B.A Sem IV, second by Priya Lakhnotra of B.Sc Sem IV and Yashika Abrol of B.A Sem-II. In message writing competition, first prize was bagged by Vanshika Bandral of Sem Ist, second prize by Sonali Devi of Sem-II and third prize by Priyanka Devi of B.A Sem IV. Event was organised by Dr. Anu Sharma, NCC officer (Girls Unit) and Prof. Sunil Magotra, NCC officer (Boys unit) under the able guidance of Worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Chander Shekhar Gupta.
