Sources said the strategy behind opting for Karhal was to make the best of the influence that Akhilesh Yadav’s candidature from the seat will have on the region. “It will not only impact the entire Agra division, of which Mainpuri is a part, but also Kanpur and Aligarh divisions,” said a senior Samajwadi Party leader.
