Allotment of work in improvement in distribution system including laying of High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) System was allotted to M/S Ircon Railway Infrastructure Company. Firm was to lay and strength distribution network with highly technical skills and give training to the technical staff for maintenance skills. Unfortunately M/S Ircon left their work in between half way with poor workmanship can be gauged at site inspection by conducting earthing testing buried in the ground. No preventive ever made since its installation. As this was left by Ircon 4 year back and went into litigation with the department. At present in Trikuta Nagar complete system is in shambles. Laid HT cables /Burnt lying in cradles are damaged replaced by the old conductor cables are hanging on the cradles below the live conductor dangerously. Some of cables left seems has left with meager life since their most of joints are burnt and connected with temporary bare conductor wires leaving behind jointing connector/ Thimbles aside causing heavy sparkling on cable thimbles as well as on Bushing rods of Transformers which becomes of ultimate cause for damage of Transformers Bushing gasket causing heavy leakages becomes the reason. With little rain one gets out of power everywhere in Trikuta Nagar. Such is the case of so called posh colony Trikuta Nagar. There is very meager staff provided that too without safety equipment by the Department to overcome emergency exigencies of the System This is so horrible that distribution system needs to be thoroughly inspected by outside Inspection team CPRI/REC to thoroughly inspect HT/LT networks and give their valuable suggestions and implement on the ground so that people of Trikuta Nagar can over come from the miseries of visible causes of frequent day/ Night prolonged breakdowns which are restored in very risky way by bypassing the system causing risk to system and human life. Moreover Human resources as well as technical audit also needs to be conducted on priority being essential services Department to rationalize the staff in PDD. since decision being taken for such audit by the Government. There is no snowfall or unnatural eventuality but routine rainy weather in the month of January 2021 at Jammu but we find longer break down and sleepless nights affecting students studies and other day today routine works of residents. Power was completely disrupted throughout night on night of 19th- 20th and 23rd January at sector 9, 8, 7 and the power fed through feeder JDA 5 in Trikuta Nagar and adjoining areas. This is not the matter of today or tonight these are routine breakdown seen. HT cables are sparkling causing fire sometimes. System seems to be risky for running power supply causing risk to human life men and material. Matter needs to be taken up on urgent basis to avoid avoidable accidents.
