PORT LOUIS (MAURITIUS): Balwant Thakur- the cultural diplomat of India to Mauritius who is currently heading world’s biggest cultural centre here launched the book entitled ‘Bollywood the global impact’ by Dr. Ouma Seebaluck at the Mauritius Gymkhana Club, Vacoas.
On the occasion Balwant Thakur said that Bollywood is India’s magical soft power and this book is a strong endorsement of this fact- a robust and compelling case that demonstrates the vast extent to which Bollywood has contributed to advancing the image, reputation and brand of Republic of India.
‘Bollywood the global impact’ poignantly captures the multifaceted phenomenon and global force that is Bollywood. The book successfully highlights the cultural mores, values, and traditions of India, while at the same time critically chronicling how Hindi film industry has managed to project the diverse cultural and social fabric of India to millions world over.
