Various delegations call on LG Mathur

LEH: A delegation led by Naib Sarpanch, Shakar-Chiktan, Mohd Shafi, on Thursday called upon the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, here.
The delegation comprising Shafi, Nambardar Mohd Mussa and two other villagers- Mohd Amin and Haji Mohd Afzal Begh- briefed LG Mathur of various issues faced by the villagers of Chiktan.
The delegation requested LG Mathur to upgrade the Higher Secondary School, Chiktan, to a Degree College. The delegation also apprised LG Mathur of the various challenges faced by the residents of Chiktan due to the shortage of staff at Community Health Center (CHC), Chiktan. They also briefed LG Mathur that the villagers are unable to avail the facility of the latest technology available at CHC Chiktan such as ultrasound machine due to a lack of doctors. The delegation requested LG Mathur to fill up the vacant posts of doctors at the earliest.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by Sarpanch, Halqa Panchayat, Abran, Zanskar, Skalzang Lamo also called upon the Lieutenant Governor.
The three-member delegation comprising Sarpanch Lamo, Panch Phunchok Stobgial and member Stanzin Nurboo briefed LG Mathur about various issues about the village. They requested LG Mathur for a survey of Akshow village and a detailed project report (DPR) of the 40-km road from Akshow village in Zanskar till Sumtsam village in Kishtwar due to the importance of the road for both people of Zanskar and Kishtwar.
The delegation from Arban also requested LG Mathur for road connectivity from Akshow Drog to Tankar-Toktha and the construction of a motorable bridge to Bakarsay village from Skagam.
The delegation requested LG Mathur for the construction of permanent sheds for nomads as the nomads are unable to construct permanent houses due to constant movement with their livestock.
Lastly, the delegation requested LG Mathur to provide relief to livestock in the form of fodder due to snowfall in the winter.
