GMC Kathua holds awareness session on Hepatitis B&C

KATHUA: On the occasion of world Hepatitis day, under the patronage of Principal Dr. Anjali Nadir Bhat an awareness session and training programme was given to the paramedical staff of associated Hospital GMC Kathua on exposure to Hepatitis B&C in the health care setting.
Speaking on the vent, Dr. Natasha Sawhney made the Nurses aware about 2021 theme of Hepatitis Day that is ‘Hepatitis can’t wait’ conveying the urgency of efforts needed on how to prevent and eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat.
She highlighted how prone the Health Care Worker (HCW) are to Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C as an occupational hazard by mode of needle stick injuries and furthermore how to prevent them. The event was also attended by Dr. Chitra Vaishnavi, MS Associated Hospital GMC Kathua who enlightened the staff about making further modalities to make HCW aware of Hepatitis and its management and preventive measures.
