The Supreme Court on Friday repelled the fresh attempts to make hijab a pan-India legal issue by refusing to give an urgent hearing on the plea challenging interim order of the Karnataka high court on the same. The HC, which is hearing the petitions against the hijab ban, has requested the state government to reopen educational institutions and also restrained the students from wearing saffron shawls, scarves, hijab and any religious flag within the classroom.
