GANDERBAL: Acting tough against social crimes, Ganderbal Police arrested 2 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from their possession. Acting on specific information, a party from Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal raided a gambling site in forest area of Authkhuroo, Shadipora following an input about gambling activities and apprehended two gamblers. They were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, resident of Wanipora, Saloora and Ghulam Hassan Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, resident of Reshipora. Officers also seized stake money amounting to Rs 2,800 and playing cards from the gamblers. They were shifted to Police Station where they remained in custody. Accordingly, FIR No. 143/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation started.
