Baramulla: A man was arrested in Baramulla district for raping a minor girl inside forest area, police said on Thursday. As per details, on July 28, 2021, Police Station Uri received a written complaint from a person stating therein that his minor daughter (name withheld), aged about 13 years, was raped by Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan alias Munna Khan, son of Mohd Saleem, resident of Paranpeelan Uri in forest area after giving life threat to her. On receiving complaint, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Uri and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, Police team after utilizing all available means and with strenuous efforts arrested accused within hours of registration of complaint. He was shifted to police station where he remained in custody. As a part of investigation, necessary medico-legal formalities have been carried out. Further investigation in the matter is going on.
