JKSC selects 22 for Khelo India Centres

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) on Thursday released the list of 22 past champion athletes selected as coach/mentor for many Khelo India Centres (KICs) at the district level in various sports disciplines.
The appointment has been made on tenure basis initially for one year extendable upto three years subject to satisfactory performance.
All these selected individuals have been advised by the JKSC order dated July 26 to report respective Divisional Sports Officers within 21 days after the date of issuance of the order.
Such coaches shall be eligible for maximum remuneration of Rs 3 lakh per year. The package is subject to the condition that a minimum of 30 regular trainees in any given discipline must strive to have equal ratio of male and female trainees, the order mentioned.
Selected Coaches: Divum Gupta (Badminton), MA Stadium; Ghulam Musaleem Mir (Basketball), Gindun, Srinagar; Rohit Sharma (Boxing), Poonch; Mohammad Ishtyak Malik (Boxing), Rajouri; Qudsiya Altaf (Football), Ganderbal; Mohd Ashraf Paray (Handball), Baramulla; Navjot Singh (Hockey), Pooch; Rohit Sharma (Hockey), Kathua; Reebu Jan (Hockey), Kupwara; Rahil Shafi Dar (Judo), Ganderbal; Rashpal Singh (Kabaddi), Doda; Firdous Ahmed Rather (Kabaddi), Bandipora; Sourav Mehra (Karate), Kulgam; Menjeet Singh (Korfball), Samba; Asif Nabi (Pencak Silat), Budgam; Ishfaq Ahmad Lone (Rugby), Bandipora; Ankit Sharma (Table Tennis), Ramnagar, Udhampur; Arvind Kumar Satti (Taekwondo), Ramban; Afreen Hyder (Taekwondo), Srinagar; Sajjad Ahmed Dar (Thang-Ta), Pulwama; Ashi Jamwal (Wushu), Jammu; Rameez Ahmad (Wushu), Shopian.
