It always remained an endeavour of the present dispensation led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure overall development of the nation besides assuring provision of all basic necessities of life even to the man standing last in the row and various significant decisions have been taken in this regard. It was this people-friendly approach of the present Government that masses reposed undaunted faith on the able leadership of the Prime Minister and provided the same dispensation another opportunity to govern the country during last Parliament elections. The series of taking proactive measures for welfare of people also continued in Jammu and Kashmir soon after its transformation into an Union Territory. There is no doubt in the fact that the level of development recorded across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir during passage of the last more than two years was earlier never witnessed by people in the history of the erstwhile state. Besides initiating numerous mega-projects in almost every sector, the present Government also ensured adequate funding for the same so that no bottlenecks can hamper the ongoing works which are launched with an only motive to ensure equitable development in every nook and corner. The Government, not only provided adequate fundings in every sector but also maintained a proper check on the utilization of the same to ensure that they are spent only for the targeted purpose without any type of diversion at any level. As the budget of the Union Territory is almost ready and expected to be presented before the Parliament very soon, as per the sources, the Union Government in a recently held meeting reviewed progress of various projects and schemes presently going on in J&K. It has been reported that the government is quite satisfied with the progress achieved by J&K administration in various schemes and is hopeful that all the set targets would be achieved within the stipulated time frame. This satisfactory working of J&K administration where on one hand, will pave way for further sanctioning of various installments by the Union Government in respect of several ongoing projects smoothly, thereby providing a major fillip to the development process presently going on across J&K.
