Ramnagar: A meeting of Congress workers was held on Sunday at Ramnagar Congress Party office under the chairmanship of AICC member Ashok Gupta.
The meeting was organised by the contested candidate of Ramnagar Vinod Khajuria. A large number of Congress workers attended the meeting and apprised the leaders about the suffering and hardship which they are facing in their respective areas.
While addressing the party workers AlCC member Ashok Gupta said that the entire area of Basantgarh is disconnected from rest of the district for last 15 days due to landslide on the Basantgarh road near Gandhtop which has not been restored so far. He appealed the district administration to take immediate steps to restore the road connectivity on the priority. He further said that the unemployed youth are frustrated and government is doing nothing for providing jobs. He demanded that the daily wagers should made permanent. While addressing the party workers Vinod Khajuria urged the administration to provide compensation and relief to the villagers who suffered heavy loss of property due to the recent heavy rains. He strongly criticized the anti- poor policies of BJP government at the Center and in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir which is totally failed to control the prices of Petrol, Diesel, Cooking gas and others essential commodities.
