JAMMU: The government has taken the decision to keep the schools and coaching centre (s) in the region closed for the time being after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the Union Territory. “On the basis of current assessment of COVID-19 in JK-UT, it is ordered that all schools including coaching centre (s) shall continue remain closed for onsite/in-person teaching till further orders,” reads an order issued by B.K Singh, Principal Secretary, School Education Department. “All vaccinated staff shall attend office,” the order stated and added, “Digital Education Programme “e-Vidalaya/e-Gash” (e-resources) of Ministry of Education, Gol, “anytime anywhere learning” in addition to Tele & Radio classes shall continue and a detailed survey report on impact of these classes shall be submitted weekly.” “Community classes shall be taken regularly by academic staff including teachers as per prescribed guidelines in all feasible areas including Jammu and Kashmir Division,” it stated and added for promoting planting of plants by students/teachers wherever possible. “Daily reporting of academic work including community classes/homework for online classes by Director(s) of School Education regularly,” the order further stated.
Meanwhile, a circular issued by Director School Education Jammu Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma reads, “In compliance of the directions passed in a meeting held under chairmanship of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and instructions conveyed by Principal Secretary, School Education J&K, it is enjoined upon all concerned that Independence Day will be celebrated along with National Flag hoisting in all educational institutes keeping in view the SoPs and Flag Code.” “The videos and photos of the function will be uploaded on Google Drive which will be shared separately,” the circular stated and added, “15-day cleanliness drive in all schools shall be initiated on the occasion of fortnight of Independence Day 2021 beginning from August 1, 2021.” “Community classes/gatherings without bag and book shall be organized to commemorate the occasion to discuss Independence Day and contributions of eminent freedom fighters of the local area and comprehensive sanitation-cum-plantation drive should be initiated by all school heads and at least 20 saplings will be planted in all schools.”
“Steps should be taken to make the schools neat and clean as school buildings are closed from more than four months,” it stated.
“From August 1, 2021 onwards all staffs members (both teaching and non-teaching) shall attend the school and those who will not come due to non-vaccination should take leave under rules,” it stated and added, “It will be duty of the Hols to ensure updating of UDISE free from errors and complete in all aspects.”
