JAMMU: The government on Monday sanctioned an increase of existing 17 per cent to 28 per cent in Dearness Allowance (DA) payable on basic pay to government employees and pensioners with effect from July 1, 2021.
“The increase subsumes the additional instalments arising on January 01, 2020, July 01, 2020 and January 01, 2021. The rate of Dearness Allowance for the period from January 01, 2020 till June 30, 2021 shall remain at 17 per cent,” reads an order issued by Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary. “The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fractions of 50 paisa and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paisa may be ignored,” the order stated.
“Other provisions governing the grant of Dearness Allowance on pension/family pension such as the regulation of Dearness Allowance during employment/re-employment, where more than one pension is drawn etc. and other provisions of the existing rules/orders (as are not in conflict with provisions of the order), shall continue to remain in force.: it added.
