Chess meet held to commemorate 75th I-Day

JAMMU: Part of the week-long celebrations to commemorate the 75th Independence Day, the J&K Sports Council (JKSC) in support with All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) on Thursday organised a day-long event at Hotel Nek, here.
The competition won by Ojaswani Mengi while Rajat Bhardwaj and Aarav Gupta remained second and third respectively.
The event was organised by Jammu District Chess Association under FIDE Laws of Chess. Anil Kotwal was Arbiter while Divyam Gupta extended technical support of Swiss software pairings.
Prominent among those who attended the sports event included Chief Accounts Officer (CEO) of the JKSC, Zafar Iqbal; Sports Officer, Ashok Singh; Manager, Satish gupta and president of the AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta.
