STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has booked J&K Bank official, Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh in Kehwah Group case for misuse of official position. As per an official spokesperson, FIR No 3/2019 was registered at Police Station ACB Anantnag against one Sheikh Imran, Director M/s Kehwah Square Pvt Ltd and bank official for misusing their official position as public servants, for offences of fraud, cheating, and illegal appropriation of bank loan for unrelated business activities and misappropriation of back-ended subsidy. “During investigation it was established that for establishment of integrated CA storage project with a total capacity of 5,000 MT eligible for cost of Rs 3,300 lakh under erstwhile Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEH) scheme on basis of certificate given by Bank, Rs 1,650 lakh at the rate of 50 per cent Eligible Project Cost (EPC) was sanctioned in favour of the accused company,” he added. Earlier, the main charge-sheet in case was filed on August 31, 2020 against Sheikh Imran (Ex-Deputy Mayor Srinagar) Director M/s Kehwah Square Pvt Ltd. and other bank officials before the Court of Spl Judge Anti Corruption Pulwama for conspiracy and misappropriation of bank funds. ACB produced supplementary charge-sheet under section 173 (8) of CrPC against the in-service bank official namely Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, the then Incharge Credit J&K Bank, Business Unit Hari Singh High Street Srinagar before the Court of Special Judge, Anti Corruption, Pulwama. “Supplementary charge-sheet was produced after sanction for launching prosecution against aforesaid bank official Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh was accorded by competent authority and further trial of case is under progress,” he added.
