Congress pays tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratan Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 131st Birth Anniversary.
The function was attended by Senior Congress leaders of the party including PCC Working President Raman Bhalla, Vice President Mula Ram, General Secretaries Yogesh Sawhney, Th. Manmohan Singh, DCC Presidents Hari Singh Chib Jammu (R), Krishan Chander Bhagat (Udhampur), Ashok Dogra (Ramban), Pawan Raina, Shashi Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Uday Bhanu Chib, Sunny Parihar, Dr. Karan Bhagat, Suresh Dogra, Rajvir Singh, Gajan Singh, Gurdarshan Singh, Sanjeev Panda, Corporators Dwarka Choudhary & Pritam Sigh, Sandeep Dogra, Ritu Gupta, Pritam Kumar Pankaj Bhagat, Shamsher Bhagat, Vinay Bushan, Dewan Chand, Sameena Kausar, Khiladi Lal, Yog Raj, Pawan Bhagat, Geetan Singh, Baldev Raj, Purshotam Kumar and others.
Bhalla recalled Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his relentless efforts for the rights of the under privileged sections of the society and to get them their constitutional rights in every sphere of life on the principle of equality.
The Indian Constitution is a unique document representing the pluralistic character of our Country, Bhalla said adding that Dr. Ambedkar will always be remembered for his pivotal role in formulating the Constitution of India, the largest democracy of the World.
Bhalla said that it is more important to remember Dr. Ambedkar at the point of time when there are attempts to distort history and dilute the democratic and secular structure in the Country.
He lashed out at the forces who are trying to destroy and distort the contribution of the Congress Party and its great stalwarts during the freedom struggle and in the post independent era.
Paying floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mula Ram remembered the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar during freedom struggle and post independence era.
After India gained independence in 1947, Ambedkar accepted Congress’ proposal to serve as the country’s first Law Minister and was appointed chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee on 29 August, 1947, Mu;a Ram said adding that on 26 November 1949, the Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly.
Yogesh Sawhney and Th. Manmohan remembered the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in framing the Indian Constitution wherein the provision for the welfare and the upliftment of poor, downtrodden and each & every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the Country.
They described Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar as one of the towering personalities of modern India who will always be remembered for his outstanding contribution for the upliftment of the downtrodden people in this country.
They said that we all should follow the path shown by Baba Sahib for equality and social justice and to bring about complete harmony and unity in diversity. They also reminded about the struggle faced by Baba Sahib against the social evils and backwardness.
